Where are the blind spots while towing a trailer?

Take a look at the four cars in the diagram driving along a motorway. The blind spots are on each side of the tow vehicle and at the rear of the trailer, as illustrated by the red shaded areas in the diagram. The red shading is the area that the driver of the tow vehicle cannot see using the vehicle’s mirrors. Without the assistance of a Haloview camera system, two of the three vehicles are completely out of the driver’s field of vision.

Where are the blind spots while driving a motorhome?

Let’s take a look at the 4 cars in the diagram driving along a motorway.

Motorhomes typically have three blind spots. They are at the sides and rear of the RV, as illustrated by the red shaded areas in the diagram. The red shading is the area that the driver of the motorhome cannot reliably see simply by looking into the vehicle mirrors. Car 3 can be seen in the RV's left door mirror, but Cars 1 and 2 are much less visible for the driver of the RV. Haloview rear and side cameras help improve visibility in this scenario.

Motorhome

  • A rear camera provides excellent visibility behind your motorhome, both when reversing and while in transit. This not only helps you reverse with confidence but also makes it easier to judge when to pull over and let other vehicles pass, preventing long queues from forming.

  • Upgrading your motorhome with our side marker light cameras gives you added visibility along both sides of your vehicle, both while reversing and during transit. This is especially valuable on motorways, where blind spots can pose real risks. Because they replace your existing side marker lights, the cameras maintain a clean, factory-style appearance.

  • The ultra-clear monitor can be mounted on the dashboard, windscreen or rearview mirror. It supports up to four camera feeds at once, giving you a complete picture of your surroundings.

Horse truck

  • A rear camera provides excellent visibility behind your horse truck, both when reversing and while in transit. This not only helps you reverse with confidence but also makes it easier to judge when to pull over and let other vehicles pass, preventing long queues from forming.

  • Adding side marker light cameras gives you added visibility along both sides of your float. This is especially valuable on motorways, where blind spots can pose real risks, or when navigating through gateways or tight parking spaces. They can replace your existing side marker lights or be added in addition to existing lights – either way, they maintain a clean, factory-style appearance.

  • An interior camera lets you monitor your horses during transit, ensuring they are safe, settled and travelling comfortably. It allows you to spot problems early and take action quickly, giving you peace of mind and a safer journey. An interior camera can be permanently mounted (BTC128) or battery-powered and, therefore, easily relocated to other positions or vehicles (BTC126).
